I love our story.
We were at a party recently and after we shared our story someone said to me.. "that's like those invisible lines...the connectors of life that are there, but you never see and they keep putting things together until something happens that was meant to happen."
We never met...
-We were both born and raised in Easton
-We both went to Bloomsburg University
-We both pledged in the greek system
-We both dated mutual friends.
-We both attended the same events ((Red Carnation balls, concerts)
-Steph's summer job was at the bakery where Michael's father worked
-Steph worked at the nursing home where Michael's mother worked
-We both went to homecoming over the years
(there is a photo of 300 alumni, we are standing three feet apart)
-Michael worked with Steph's mother for 20 years
-Michael's secretary is one of Steph's mother's best friends
..and yet we never met.
Summer of 2021 as COVID was lifting, Gwen Raifsnider one of the great connectors of BU's alumni, asked Steph to a party hosted by a TKE brother.
A few moments after I walked in the door, I noticed Michael leaning on his kitchen counter and thought.. who is that, do I know him? He had such a sparkle in his blue eyes. I flirted shamelessly, and Michael flirted right back. I feel like I have known him my entire life and Michael tells everyone he has been waiting 60 years for me.
A little over a year later, Michael proposed at the end of a romantic tour of Europe, celebrating the Ludrof's 35th wedding anniversary, which included a Viking Cruise down the Rhine, ending in Paris. Nearing the end of the vacation (which included a surprise visit from the Jacksons!) at the base of the Eiffel Tower, at midnight in a fine mist of rain, he dropped to one knee and proposed. In the photo that we used for our save the date card and included on this site, you can see him holding the ring in his pocket. The picture was taken a few moments before he proposed.
The past few years we have had so much fun together. We can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together sharing the good and the bad all mixed in with laughter. Thank you for celebrating with us.
Love,
Michael and Steph
